Happy Thanksgiving to All the Grateful (and Not)!

A requisite post.

From our family to yours: We are SO thankful for each other, & the rolls our butter does smother; For the place where our turkey and gravy does go, & for the mac-and-cheese and Gramma’s pie and chocolate leaves a little more so; For our big house with extra room, free from doom, with plants round it abloom; For football on this day & the anticipation of rides in December on a Christmas sleigh; For the Pilgrims’ sacrifices which were not maladroit, but which we (just maybe do) exploit; For this american life we live, quite grand, overflowing with cropland and beaches by which we get tanned; Still, above all, we are SO thankful for You, God, & all the things that You do; For Your ultimate sacrifice, that surely does suffice; For the eternal promises You keep, that do not come cheap; For all the blessings You willingly let us reap, & the lessons to keep; For the love and joys you bestow, Oh! how our hearts do grow … in gratitude. It will forever be our attitude 🙇.

Thanks be to God for his indescribable gift! – 2 Corinthians 9:15

Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; his love endures forever. – Psalm 107:1

“I would maintain that thanks are the highest form of thought; and that gratitude is happiness doubled by wonder.” ~ G.K. Chesterton

“As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them. ”
~ John F. Kennedy
